Module 1: Photography Coursework

60%

To be completed by the end of January in Year 13. This is based upon the environment and the development of practical and technical skills. This helps students to research and investigate different ideas, making considered and appropriate reference to critical and contextual material. Students are required to combine methods and processes to produce an expressive response through an explorative approach.

Module 2: Externally Set Assignment

40%

The culmination of the A2 course is a 15 hour, timed test. Students will be given a 10 week preparatory period, after which they will be asked to produce a unit of photographic work. They will need to show evidence of preparatory studies, demonstrating development of ideas, experimentation with materials and processes and a critical evaluation of the images produced. Both of these units will be submitted for assessment together with the final photographs. The two modules will be displayed for marking and external moderation in June.
