BHS Sixth Form Options 2025

SIXTH FORM
OPTION BLOCKS
Below, you can see the 2025-26 Year 12 Option Blocks. Students will be asked to pick 3 subjects to study. They can choose 1 subject from Block A, Block B, Block C or Block E. Once students have settled into Sixth Form, they will choose 1 or 2 options from Block D to enrich their extra-curricular profile.
There is an option for students to study four A Levels. Students must be cautious about such a decision because this will lead to a very heavy workload. In order to be able to study a fourth subject, you need to have a very strong GCSE profile with at least 4 A grades.

CURRICULUM &
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Summary of A Level/BTEC arrangements for courses starting September 2025
To join the BHS Sixth Form in September 2025, students will need to achieve a minimum of 5 GCSE C grades, inclusive of both English Language and Mathematics. Following on from this, students will then have to meet the entry requirement for their chosen subjects. These requirements are shown below.

-
For entrance to our Sixth Form, a C grade is equivalent to a 4 grade in the numbered grading system, or a Level 2 Pass.
-
PC Passport/half GCSEs do not count as an entrance grade
-
Unless 8 people opt for a subject, we cannot guarantee that it will run next year. If this is the case, you will be automatically placed in your ‘reserved subject’.
