QUALIFICATION

EXAM BOARD: AQA

What does the course involve:

Please note, this is NOT a subject you can choose when making your initial option choices. You will be able to choose to study EPQ as a fourth option when you start BHS Sixth Form, in September.

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is an  AS level standard standalone qualification designed to extend and develop your abilities beyond A-Levels, and prepare you for university or your future career future career. You are supported through a progressively independent project. While you do not need to know your area of research at the start of the project, you will need to develop a genuine passion and interest in the topic you focus on. These attributes will help your commitment and motivation to your Project and ensure your success.

It is worth half an A-Level and contributes UCAS tariff points for university applications and funding for higher education courses. It is recognised by universities and employers and shows a dedication to independent research and the pursuit of knowledge.
